You couldn’t blame Humble’s Football Wildcats if they got caught eyeing the “frosting” and the “hint of fruit filling” of the “pastry” instead of the scenic peek-through of the “confection’s” middle, open circle.  After all, Friendswood’s Mustangs had made their decade’s long resurgence on the arms of their passers.  Whether it was the QB now at Texas Tech, Jacob Koram or the cool customer currently in charge of their offense, Pete Maetzold, the regional finals had become their own personal spread to roam, even though they never got any farther off the Mustang range than that level, and it was the passing game to thank for that roaring success.
